Kokiya is a well-established Ryotei (traditional high class restaurant) in the center of Hiji. Here, you can sample the signature dish of the region, marbled sole, as well as sushi and all kinds of kaiseki banquet food, too.
From small rooms to large banquet rooms, the restaurant caters to small parties and big groups alike. There are course menus that include sea eel and flathead fish, too. Garden eel is especially prominent on the menu, and there are lots of ways to try it, such as in sushi or steamed in a basket, so there really is a huge variety to choose from.
