Matsumoto Plantation uses seawater cultivation methods to grow its pears, making them extra sweet and rich in minerals.
You can opt to walk around the plantation eating as many pears as you like, but takeout is the popular choice. Local shipping is available, so pear-picking travelers don't have to worry about their haul getting damaged on the way home.
Depending on the season you can find different varieties of pears to enjoy, such as Kosui, Hosui and Niitaka varieties.
