In the Fukae region of Oga is the Oga harbour fish market. Here, nearly every day at 7:15am, fresh seafood is put out for auction. Middlemen then sell these auctioned-off fish to regular customers on the spot, at extremely reasonable prices.
At the market, there is an area where you can get your fish cut up for you at an additional price. Cool-packed shipping is available, so do make use of this convenient service. Also, every Saturday you can find all sorts pop-up stores, selling everything from fresh vegetables and flower seeds to fried oysters and tempura.
