Shiroshita park is home to around 100 cherry blossom trees, and in spring the park is always alive with people enjoying the Japanese tradition of hanami. The view of Beppu Bay and the adjacent Takasaki Mountains is a sight to behold. It has been ranked as one of the top 100 views in Oita prefecture, and one of the top 8 views in Beppu.
At the park, you can also find a monument dedicated to famous Japanese poet Kyoshi Takahama, which reads 'In the ocean, pure water springs and fish thrive'.
