Situated in a horizontal stone chamber, this tomb from the late 6th century is thought to be that of an important and powerful figure significant to the Fujiwara and Oga regions. The tomb was discovered by some children who were playing on the mound in 1884. Since then, Jizo (gardian dieties) were installed by local people who started to call the site 'Ana-Kannon' or 'Ana-sama'.
A large tree towers over the mound, creating something of a mysterious atmosphere here.
